Thank you so much. Installing Lync didn’t update that, so presence info didn’t show up until I logged into Skype (something I didn't try until I read your post). This is where a value called DefaultIMApp was set to Skype. This has been unable to work for me. Outlook 2013 Presence Indicator Not Working However, you must make a Registry change for this. Skype For Business Status Not Showing In Outlook 2013 Thank you for posting.

Jul 30, 2013 Presence not shown or unavailable in Outlook 2010 but it's displayed in Lync 2013 Recently after upgrading one Office 365 user from Lync 2010 to Lync 2013, his here in my Notebook is everything OK.
