Change the name of your workgroup from "WORKGROUP" to what every you use. The old XP default was MSHOME.

The suggestion to disable IPv6 on the Vista and Windows 7 computers works for me. Does a byte contain 8 bits, or 9? It seems that changing the workgroup name is forceing the computer to run a "network discovery" process of some sort. But for whatever reason, I can't seem to get my new machine into the Ostia network.I've had zero problems with the internet on my new machine otherwise.
