It returned a bunch of "NOT removing read only attribute on HIDDEN file path\filename on all the hidden stuff. This is what causes docs to come up as read-only.

What am I missing? At first, you note that the read-only attribute checkbox is grayed out. I located the handle that explorer.exe had on the file /folder in question, removed the handle and I was able to delete the file without any dramas at all. have a peek here supprising.

If you run the attrib command to see the attributes of the folder, you'll see that it is not marked as read-only.
