I haven't used WLM in a while, but you should be able to compare account settings between working and non-working setups (especially, port numbers and SSL settings).

Click Options in that post, then edit reply.Windows Live issue:SMTP port should be 465 with SSL ONThis server requires authentication must be checkedSA ( Secure password authentication) should NOT be checked. i ran the troubleshoot compatibility but i get an error message there as well-'an unexpected error occured while trouble shooting: an error has occured the trouble shooting wizard cannot continue. I pulled up a forum post a few hours ago and it said that if you are using 465, it is important to ALLOW that port on your router settings, if It’s no wonder people get them mixed up.
scout_03Dec 14, 2012, 10:49 AM did you try the repair ? I can only guess the router has been set up differently than stock. Turns out that I had to give my router an OK to add the Port ( 465) that was set in the outgoing server on WLM, and now it works perfectly. First, the email service provides your email address and hosts your inbox.
